Welcome!
My name is Carles Pamies, and I am an Assistant Professor in Political Science at the National University of Distance Education (UNED) in Madrid, as well as a visiting professor at Sciences Po, Paris. I earned my PhD in Political Science (cum laude, with an international distinction) at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM).
Before joining UNED, I was a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Public Goods and Policies (IPP) of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) and at the Centre d'études européennes et de politique comparée of Sciences Po. Prior to that, I was also a research assistant at the Université de Liège, and I held visiting positions at the University of Oxford. I have also been hired for three European projects and another three national projects.
My research focuses on political parties and the representation of migrants, and it has been published in journals such as the American Behavioral Scientist, Democratization, European Political Science, the Journal of Contemporary European Studies, Politics and Governance, the Revista Española de Investigaciones Sociológicas, the Revista Internacional de Sociología, and in chapters in publishers such as Palgrave Macmillan, among others.
